The City of Highland will host Arkansas State Representative, Fran Cavenaugh, in a special town meeting
to update the public on new state laws and answer any questions from citizens.
Also, after the special town meeting the City will take this time to answer any questions regarding the one half percent sales tax issue(found in Ordinance 2017-02 & 2017-03) that will be voted on in the special election on the eighth day of August Two thousand and seventeen.
We encourage our citizens to please help spread the word and participate in this free, knowledgeable town meeting. We hope to see you there!

Welcome to the City of Highland! The city was incorporated in 1998 and is located in Sharp County. Highland is the fourth largest city in Sharp County with a population of 1,045 and covers 8 square miles. We are bordered by Hardy, Cherokee Village and Ash Flat. Highland has a full-time Police Department and a Volunteer Fire Department. Highland is home of the Highland School District. Go Rebels!! We have three lakes: Lake Mirandy, June Lake, and Wild Plum Lake. All three lakes offer quiet places for fishing and swimming. The city park is located next to Lake Mirandy.
